America's Top 10 Most Tech-Friendly Cities

012609_tf_forbeswired.jpgForbes' anuual list of the most broadband-connected cities in the U.S. is out! Since 2007, Forbes has measured cities' wired quotient by computing the percentage of Internet users with high-speed connections, the number of companies providing high-speed Internet, and the number of public wireless Internet hot spots in a particular city. So who made the list? Well, the 2007 and 2008 list-topper was dethroned this year and fell to the #2 spot (It also happens to be my town! Rep yo city!), an underdog jumped from #11 last year to #3 on 2009's list thanks in part to a famous tech-savvy new resident, and a surprise entry at #4 cinched it's spot with a non-computer mouse...

Check out Forbes' Web site for a detailed story about why they picked these 10 cities, as well as a slide show with each cities' vital wired stats.

  1. Seattle
  2. Atlanta
  3. Washington, D.C.
  4. Orlando, Fla.
  5. Boston, Mass.
  6. Miami, Fla.
  7. Minneapolis, Minn.
  8. Denver, Colo.
  9. New York, N.Y.
  10. Baltimore, Md.
