Maytag Osiris Drying Cabinet

2008_03_20 maytag_osiris.jpgAt first we thought this was a cool, industrial looking steel wardrobe. When we looked closer and realized that it was actually a drying cabinet it became even more interesting.

Living in the Pacific Northwest and being someone that enjoys snowboarding, wet gear and shoes as you come into the house is a pretty regular occurence. Since clothing of this type doesn't really take well to a dryer, you are usually left with hanging them by the door and the resulting small puddle on the floor as water drips off the drying clothes. While $1,130 is not cheap, if you look at it as an alternative to adding a built in closet then maybe the added function would be worth it.

Is there a reason why it's named after the Egyptian God of Death? "Maytag. Dries your clothes DEAD!"

When I was an exchange student in college in Sweden, our building's laundry room had a monster of a drying machine in it. I didn't know what it was and stayed away from it for a few weeks until one of my roommates showed me how to dry my sheets in twenty minutes flat. I would KILL for one of these in my house now!!!
