Of the entire family of home tech; after all the laptops, LCD TVs and home stereo systems; it's the kitchen tech that gets the least play. And no kitchen tech is as under-appreciated—yet completely neccessary—as the toaster. It's about time someone gave it a makeover...
The Tulip Toaster, from designers Sergej Kuckir, Hayley Powell, Katherine Whiting, Minas Patsalos & Varun Gujral, is a concept for a toaster that would make the chairs in your kitchen jealous.
All it takes is a simple wooden frame—in a shape reminiscent of the toaster's namesake, a tulip—attached to a sleek and simple one-knobbed white toaster to take this basic (and usually an eyesore) kitchen counter staple to a place worthy of admiration.
And to think, you won't have to hide your toaster in a kitchen cabinet anymore. Besides, it was a pain in the butt dragging it out when you needed it.

It looks like a regular toaster sitting in an oversized napkin holder. I'll stick with my shiny red Oster.

I HATE concepts. Every time I'd be in to buying something, it's not for sale.

Oh, all I can see are the crumbs that will inevitably fall between toaster and cradle thingy. It is anything but streamlined. I have to say thumbs down on this one.
