Without pruning, apple trees bear no fruit.
We really took that to heart over the past six months as we planned for this redesign. We wanted to prune, simplify and provide room for growth. In this, Apartment Therapy's 2nd redesign since 2004, we've made one BIG change: we've combined all of our home design sites into one site and given our other four categories, cooking, children, tech and green, their own homes with room to grow. Take a tour and check it all out. Some parts are still under construction, but there's a lot new to see.

It's time for some holiday cheer! We are kicking off our annual Gift Bag event (starts next week) by giving away this joy-inducing music system: The Geneva Sound System ($500.) is compact yet powerful and will be perfect for playing your favorite seasonal tunes at your upcoming holiday party. The creative minds at my husband's office decided that a plain old screen for their projection system would just not be nearly interesting (or humorous) enough, so they hacked together this Bruce Wayne mansion-worthy piece for their conference room. To see it in action, look below the jump...

We wish you a peaceful, restful Memorial Day. We'll be back tomorrow.
Colorful but hardworking storage by Loadbearing was on show at ICFF. Designed by Mathias Frei, these non-stodgy shelves are a welcome addition anywhere in the home, but would really brighten up a home office environment.
So good on so many levels - they are completely customizable and have lots of options for the doors (wood veneers and colorful or metallic powder coated steel) and are serious workhorses as each shelf can hold 220 pounds.
Congratulations to all the winners! AT: Home Tech would like to thank all of the entrants for stepping up and sharing their inspired tech setups - your creativity and design skills will help many of us with our own tech solutions. We'd also like to thank the readers for choosing our six finalists and the judges for choosing our three winners.

Quotes from the Judges on Kelly and Gregory's entry:
Ryan:"I like this setup because of the seamless integration of the technology into the space. You only see what you need to, yet there is still easy access to all the equipment."
Mark:"The hidden media components behind speaker cloth is fantastic, another idea I think will "borrow"."
Kelly:"This design wowed us all, and offers a creative solution to hiding media."
Kate:"Kelly & Gregory's setup is beautiful, like the entire place. I love how streamlined everything is. "

Favorite other tech entry from the contest: My favorite other entry is #10, Matthew and Kimberly's Modern Organic. I felt it addressed the small space requirements beautifully and economically. The simple and sexy set-up didn't overwhelm the space with equipment and gadgetry. Plus I have the same television.
