2-in-1 Kitchen Gadgets: Handy or Silly?

102309_tf_2in1kitchengadgets.JPGEfficiency is always the goal. So taking two different kitchen-related functions and putting them into one small product seems like a good idea, right? Right?!? We're not so sure after seeing these two gadgets...

First, we spotted this 2-in-1 kitchen scale&mdash'slash—clock. The idea is that it's super-convenient to not have to keep a scale out on the counter when you need to measure ingredients. Instead, you can just yank the clock off the wall and use it's built-in scale instead.

Then, to keep the trend going, we spotted the $1,600 Kenwood Cooking Chef. It's a food prep machine with a built-in induction system designed to cook food (up to 140 degrees) while you're prepping it.

What do you think of these gadgets? Are they a step in the right direction for efficiency? Or is this a silly move that won't stick around in your kitchen? Let us know in the comments...

gregory discussed the clock this week already. seems like itd be more of a hassle to pull the clock down, use it as a scale, clean it, then hang it back up.

i guess if you had very limited kitchen counter space this might be up your alley

Get food to 140 degrees? Yeah, that's sanitary.
