I was browsing through the new issue of Glamour (it's what Conde Nast is sending me now that Domino is kaputz, plus following cover girl Miley Cyrus is a guilty pleasure), and spotted this interesting and unique solution for those techies that like a more cozy style. Glamour suggests to use a stack of big art books in lieu of a more traditional TV stand to raise your screen up in style...
The suggestion comes as part of Glamour's recurring "How to do anything better" piece. This issue wants to help you decorate your apartment better and includes this tidbit:
Art books look cuter than a TV table, and get the job done with flair.
Well, if you have big, sturdy, glamorous books that you don't ever plan to skim through, I guess it could work. But we're still not sure we'd give up the sound structure of a TV unit when what we're looking for is something to keep our multi-hundred dollar investment up off the ground in one piece.
What do you guys think?

I open up all of my books too often for them to be stuck under a television. This is one of those ideas that seems like it's for people who want you to think they read rather than for people who actually read.
