We've been dreaming of setting up a backyard theater, if you hadn't noticed from our Sonance outdoor speaker write-up and last night's Final Frame.
Domino must have gotten the bug too, as they feature a quick guide to turning your garden into a sit-in in their latest issue...
We liked the idea of Viewsonic's ViewDock, which lets you directly plug in your iPod video into the projector and beam out the content you have saved on your portable player. Unfortunately the projector doesn't boast HD, projecting at 1024x768 XGA. With more and more content becoming available in HD, and with the switch to digital hitting in February, that's becoming a bigger deciding factor these days.
If you don't mind staying in standard def, the projector is available at TigerDirect.com for $550.

I was invited to a home outdoor movie two summers ago and it was still the best party i have ever been too. they had "True Romance" a BBQ, lots of beer, a bluegrass trio and archery.
I aspire to such feats of hosting greatness.
