Traditionally, powerline networking utilizes your existing power wiring to connect your computers to the internet. With simple devices plugged into both your computer(s) and modem/router, you can easily create a home network. The article gives you a good overview of how powerline networking works, and most interestingly, discusses the next soon-to-be released generation of the technology. What's promising about this advancement is that devices will be available not only to network your computers, but also share television and audio signals.
