Many times, the first instinct is to hide that big black box. But the solutions we discover can be awkward, or amateur, at best. The editors at Electronic Home discovered this creative solution for hiding a television in an apartment in Asheville, NC. Camouflage that television with a decorative work of art.
The TV is set into a recessed nook in the wall, and covered by a hinged work of art. When you're done with your TV watching, simply close the cover.
All of the components are hidden in a custom floating cabinet below. Sure, you're going to have to do a bit of heavy-duty construction to create this setup in your own home, but its a great alternative to a large, bulky piece of furniture.
Check out the tour of this entire teched-out space over at Electronic Home.
The installation seems like a good idea - hiding the TV that way. But the tv is installed way too high for a comfortable level for the eye from the sitting position. It is installed as if these people will be watching tv standing.
