Free wifi was the future. But lately, its success has come under scrutiny. A recent segment of On The Media chatted with CNet's Marguerite Reardon about whether or not municipal wifi was a dying breed. The answer? A whole lot of bureaucracy, the difficulties of a public/private partnership, and an inferior service compared to other options has stymied its growth in many cities. What about your city?
