Blogging USA Today: Nintendo Wii's for Hotel Guests?

2008_04_01 wii rental.jpgWhen we go on vacation it is usually to get away from the everyday routine. Spend the entire day sitting by the pool, reading a book, or something along those lines. Has technology, or more specifically the Wii become the equivalent of reading a book by the pool?

The Westin hotel chain is offering this type of experience for its guests now, but more as a means of getting folks to mingle. What do you think? Welcome change or intrusion into rest and relaxation?

I don't mean to be picky with USA today, but that really doesn't look like the guitar for the wii. It's hard to tell but i don't see the slot of the wiimote on the girl's guitar.

Their price seems crazy, if anyone wants to rent my wii for $50 an hour they can give me a call, i'll have it right over to them.

last point, seriously $120 an hour to have it projected and play it with a "trainer". How the heck do you need a trainer for the wii. Tennis takes a little bit of skill but i bet you can figure it out on your own pretty easily. But for boxing, come on... That is such an inaccurate game, you pretty much just need to swing your arms around and you'll do fine.
