Do You Have a "Go-To Color" For Gadgets?

022009_tf_coloredgadgets.jpgEver since iPod marketed the iPod Mini back in early 2004 with an option to purchase in silver, gold, pink, blue or green, all kinds of gadgets have gotten a lot more colorful. Apple still rocks with their iPod Shuffle having 5 hue choices and iPod Nano famously giving you nine fully saturated options, but gadgets like television sets are starting to come out in color and for gadgets that don't, there's always the option for cases and skins. But our question is... Do you gravitate to one color? Or mix it up like a bag of Skittles?

022009_tf_coloredgadgets2.jpgWe always like to go with the classic gadget colors of silver, gray or black even when we get a choice. The TV is gray/silver and our cell is gray with a black silicon skin.

Our iPod color of choice? White. It's an old iPod! We didn't have a choice! If we were buying a Nano tomorrow, We'd probably pick the charcoal gray.

So you new it was coming, Unplggd: What's your go-to gadget color?

Gray, silver, black and white. I'm a very Apple-centric guy and am loving the current colors/materials of their current line like the iMac for example. This simple color scheme for electronics works universally and for me it goes very well with my love of Mid-century modernism including my wood furniture. My rotary telephone is black, my HDTV is a 37" Hannspree Hannslounge, I have a turntable with a silver front and faux wood on the sides, my refrigerator and microwave are white (came in the dorm), even my venerable N64 is gray and black ;).

I like color in accessories, art, etc. but as for the main items, furniture, etc., simple is best.

I love the way white electrics look. I feel they don't weigh down a space like black does.

That being said, my computer is silver.

I'm currently a fan of matte black. My macbook and ipod classic , even the case for my iphone are, as the kids say, "murdered out".

Red, whenever possible. White is a close second. I have an aversion to black electronics and appliances and will not bring them into my home.

White or silver, although I had the blue iMac about 10 years ago (I'm a hardcore Apple user). I like to keep it really clean and simple. Would love to have a silver TV, but the white ones look good.

I guess my aesthetics are similar to Nouniard's. I've basically been fashioning things around my computers. They were translucent blue for my G3 tower then silver and acrylic for my G4 tower, now aluminum & white for my Macbook & iMac, which goes very well with my modern furnishings.

I did the all black thing back in the 90's and I'm kinda over that one.

most of my electronics are black, silver/grayish, and/or blue. although my only apple gadget is my ipod, i was still able to color coordinate my gadgets. my nokia phone is black&white, my dell xps laptop is black, silver&gray, my WD MyBook 500gb is black w/ the blue lights, my samsung lcd monitor, razr mouse are both black w/ blue lights on it,my matx computer case is glossy black like my monitor, and fits perfectly in my shelf, which i turned into my narrow&long desk.

I usually prefer white and gray, my phone is white and macbook is gray, but Im in love with my purple ipod nano. I think its really nice when you have just one or two colorful gadgets to contrast with the other neutral colors.

Pink! It stops my husband from running off with my gadgets.
