Rotating Entertainment Center
Dwell Magazine

dwell-sz-100109.jpg If we had kids and a basement we'd want this. Shown in this month's Dwell, this rotating entertainment center is in the amazing home of architect and builder Ken Meffan. Located in Rough and Ready, California (we're from CA and we've never heard of this place!) the home is a beautiful wooden oasis...

The media storage unit serves as both a place to house all the family's home theater goods, but also acts as a room divider/door. Spin the unit and you get access to the home office on the other side. The wooden cabinet/partition spins via a steel pivot welded to a heavy-duty tractor bearing.

While we wouldn't want this in our main dream house, we would love to have it in our fantasy basement, which would serve as a kid's play area filled with a ping pong table, sofas to lounge on, and this spinning home theater. What do you think?
