We buy our machines tailored to our home workspace. A desktop for the always-upright type, or a laptop for the sometimes-my-couch-is-my-desk type. But what about the desk-away-from-home-in-the-sky types?

As we're sure you've seen, plenty of big airlines are now offering Wi-Fi service on their flights.
If you're not already one of the laptop faithful, do you plan on grabbing a netbook (or adding one to your holiday wish list?)?
If we flew more than we do (right now, it's only a few trips a year—mostly for pleasure), it would definitely be worth it to shell out a few hundred for a limited-use (basically browsing only) netbook to keep us busy on long flights. If we decide not to go the route of netbook, we'll definitely be considering a Wi-Fi capable iPod Touch to keep us in-touch in the air.

I have an Asus netbook for my everyday home use, and it's been great. I upgraded the RAM and run all the programs that I ran on my old computer on it. The only limitation is the screen size, but I can hook it up to a larger monitor if I need to. On the plus size, it's great for traveling.

I think I'm missing something. Why can't I just use my everyday laptop? Why do I need to buy a new computer?
