We currently have stack of Dwell magazines sitting at home. With each month, that stack keeps getting bigger and the space to store them smaller. What to do? While we love these examples of built in floor level shelving and customized magazine files, these both still take up space and don't make it any easier to find a specific article unless you have an amazing memory. Fine Woodworking has a solution for this problem.
As a hobby woodworker, it's great to see that Fine Woodworking has created an index CD for the first 200 issues of the magazine. Have a vague recollection of an article you read last year? Know the name of the project you want to reference? Simply type in the keywords and pinpoint the exact issue you need. For us, this would be perfect for finding that Eichler or pre-fab that we came across in an earlier issue without having to spend an afternoon hoping we can find it. Unfortunately, when it comes to our favorite mags, we'll probably have to stick with scanning and organizing our favorite articles by ourself for now.
If you are into Fine Woodworking and want to pick up the index CD you can get it here for $20.
