No, not like this.
Twitter's popularity has been skyrocketing recently. With your sister and your nephew and your mom all getting online and tweeting, you had to imagine that the micro blogging phenomenon would one day invade more of your home than your computer screen. Some dude not even affiliated with Twitter is working on
Twitter Wit, a book that's home to a collection of the most witty tweets ever spotted on Twitter.com—and he's giving you a chance to become park of the book.
If you're a Twitter user and you want to submit your tweet for inclusion to Twitter Wit, just log in over at the book's Web site and submit your clever and witty tweet's URL. If yours is selected to be published you get a free copy of the book to leave open to your page on your coffee table—and probably like a hundred new followers, we're thinking.
At first we were like "What? A Collection of witty tweets?" But after reading editor Nick Douglas' explanation why the Twitter Wit book was not just an excuse to make a quick buck, we were sold on his authority on all things witty:
The words “get rich quick” and “book” do not belong in the same sentence. We tried to pitch MTV on “The Real Tweet” but they insisted on having Carson Daly host it, with T-Pain singing tweets in Autotune and maybe some Twitter birds in bikinis, and we just had to pass.
So when can you get your grubby little tweeter claws on this book? All we know is that it's coming out sometime in Fall 2009. But you can stay updated on the book by following @twitticisms.
