ID Pilot Wire Identification Labels

2007_03_30 wirelabels.jpg

Have you ever found yourself crammed under your desk needing to unplug a specific electronic component only to realize once you are down there that you have no idea which plug is the right one? The ID pilot wire labels have been showing up everywhere recently, probably because it is such a simple concept and something that everyone thinks they should have thought of.

Simple stickers with an identifying icon are placed on the plug side of your electronics so that the next time you find yourself underneath your desk...and it is inevitable that you will...you can guarantee that the first plug you pull is the right one.

Since a power strip isn't going to look good no matter what, I can't see ordering fancy-schmancy labels when you can just write "printer" on a plain white label or one of those twist-ties from the bulk aisle at Whole Foods and slap that on the cord.
