Or you could tie up your current too-long cord with a twist tie, which is cheaper and "greener."

i think it's a great idea, and i'd want one for when i sync my ipods/iphone to my computer, but i simply use the original ipod cable with a twist tie. essentially makes it the same length as these products and if for whatever reason i need to, i can remove the twist tie and use it's full length.

@wu1chef: the iPods mentioned in the article also have one cord for connecting to USB and AC adapters. A lot of devices now charge and connect to USB over one cord.
The point here seems to be that sometimes the cord originally provided is longer than you need and the extra length makes it messy and/or easily tangled. Not that devices have too many cords because they have a separate cord for each different function.
