

Using inductive charging, similar to Candela electric lights, these forthcoming wireless chargers requires a single mat plugged into the wall and devices that contain the appropriate components. Simply drop your gadgets onto the mat, which could easily be hidden in a box or drawer, and let them charge out of sight. No unsightly wires to clutter your space. From what I understand of this technology, energy is transmitted via long waves, which are harmless to organic tissue. On the other hand, the short waves used for cell phone communication is much much more harmful, and you're holding that next to your head!

Besides long waves, they will be very short range. Meaning unless you're using this thing as a pillow, I think you'll be fine.
