Pivoting HDMI Cables: For That Tight Wall Mount Squeeze

2008_07_17 HDMI_pivot.jpgI have my TV mounted on the wall, and thankfully Sharp was smart enough to place the HDMI ports such that a pivoting HDMI cable was unnecessary. There are other situations where I wasn't so lucky.

My DVD player, digital cable box and receiver all take HDMI. This is a good thing until you realize the shelves you want to put them in is shallow enough for the connected HDMI cable to protrude out the back and cause one of your components to stick out of the front of the shelf. Luckily there were no doors on this one, but had there been, the only option I would have had would be to change components or change shelves. Neither one a particularly attractive option. With Panasonic's new pivoting HDMI cables, you can take back an extra 6 cm of space and push that protruding component back where it belongs.

Slated for release in August, so no pricing is available yet.

I definitely need one of these for the overhead DLP projector. Hopefully they don't charge an arm and a spleen for these.
