Uncommon Basics: IKEA Rabalder Power Strip

2007-02-18-rabalder.jpg
The power strip is ubiquitous in our homes, and frankly its ugly. Instead of spending your time worrying about hiding it, why not buy a more attractive solution?

A recent trip to IKEA uncovered a hidden gem, a practical, affordable, and attractive power strip. It's attractive because they have discarded the standard power bar in favor of curves, and have used transparent materials to reveal a pleasing palette of wires in teal, blue, and gray. The Rabalder Power strip is available in three and five outlet varieties, in either blue or gray. It costs just $7.99 and $9.99 for a two-pack, respectively. (The orange, at this time, is only available in Europe.)

An extra bonus is added functionality, the outlets are aligned horizontally rather than vertically, which alleviates the common problem of an extra-large ac adapter covering more than one outlet.

Find it here.
