Japanese Instamatic Import Captures Thanksgiving Hijinx

112508_sz_fujiinstax.jpgPolaroid fans rejoice! You can still get instant gratification, this time from Fuji. The Instax, imported from Japan and available at Urban Outfitters, produces instant prints similar to Polaroid's old Joycam. The film is just as expensive as Polaroid's defunct film though, so you better be sure you like what you see before you click.

Now if only someone could make a digital camera/instamatic hybrid. A camera that saves your photos on a memory card, but also allows you to print on Polaroid-style film straight from the camera if you want to. One more image after the jump plus other Polaroid news...

last year I was hanging out with some of my Korean friends and they all had this camera. They said its really popular in Asia and I looked into getting one last year they were about $50-$70 on ebay but now I noticed since Polaroid is gone that the price has skyrocketed. I may just ask one of them to get it for me and I'll pay the difference if its cheaper over there.

the prints are the same as the joycam(i had this one also)
but they have different designs on the photograph like Hello Kitty or Disney characters. Its cute especially for birthday parties or slumber parties. :)

Wow! I just read a post on swissmiss that has exactly what you are looking for... instant printer and digital camera in one! The website says it will be available in Japan November 28th. Don't know how long it will take to be available in the US, and have no idea of the price.
