CES 2009: Updated Lasonic TRC - 931 iPod Ghetto Blasters

011509LASonic01.jpg2009CES-Unplggd.jpgSure, we have fond memories of our early 80's ghetto blasters bumpin' out Kool Moe Dee and Suicidal Tendencies, but do we really wanna take it back old school like these Lasonic TRC-931 iPod Ghetto Blasters? Apparently quite a few people do, as they've updated the TRC-931 with variants with new colours and graphics to make you feel like you're fighting the power, Radio Raheem style. A couple more photos of these resurrected dinosaurs below...

011509LASonic03.jpgThe ghetto blaster facsimiles come equipped with built-in iPod dock (compatible with any iPod up though the 5.5g model iPod and 1g /2g iPod nanos), SD card reader, AM/FM radio tuning, and USB port, appropriately requiring 10 D batteries, but with an AC adapter plug for those of you who like to keep it real at home. The plethora of non-working bells and whistles make these players fun to look at, but don't really control your iPod when docked. Definition of frontin', huh? We'd link you back to Lasonic's website, but like these units themselves, the site seems to be highly suspicious (Firefox warns of the site being untrustworthy).

Love/Hate...I want one! $200 is a lot though, but c'mon, how cool!
