Having recently moved from South Florida to a (slightly) more northern state, we're finally seeing what Autumn and Winter are supposed to look like. What do we love about the crisp weather? Red leaves, seeing your breath and buying really cute sweaters. What do we hate about the season? Having to wash and (air) dry those sweaters. Please enlighten this southern girl: Why is it that a sweater will feel dry to your hands but feel like a cold, wet rag once you put it on? I might just grab one of these spidey-webish sweater dryers...

i find that if you give them an extra spin cycle in the washer alone (assuming you have in-home laundry) and lay them in a sunny (but not direct sun) window, they dry in no time

Just as a side note, you shouldn't have to wash a 100% wool sweater all that often. One of the magical properties of wool is that you can hang it up in a bathroom or your laundry room to air out and any body odors you left on your sweater should go away. I'm not to embarrassed to admit that I have several sweaters that i have never washed. A believe me, my friends would tell me if I smelled bad. ;)
Another reason you sweaters probably still feel wet when you put it on is because wool can absorb up to 50% of its weight in water before feeling wet, so probably just touching it, it feels dry.
