Spring Cleaning Tips - For Your Home Theater

2008_03_27 sping slean theater.jpgNow that spring is here, as part of your spring cure don't forget about the home theater. Because of the nature of the equipment however, you need to take a little bit more care than when your are wiping down the kitchen countertops.

Sound and Vision Magazine has a good overview of what you need to watch for.

  • Don't use Windex on an LCD TV. Plain water and a cloth for cleaning eyeglasses will suffice

  • Don't use a silicone based cleaner like Pledge on wood speakers. In this case Windex is actually recommended

  • Wipe down DVD players, amplifiers, receivers etc with a clean dry cloth. Don't use any cleaning fluids as these can get into the device and short out the circuitry
