Designed by Greg Wolos and winner of Furni's “Show Us Your Skills” competition winner, the Emily alarm clock confused us with its advertised side profile configuration until we realized it was a brilliant idea for those of us who keep a bedside alarm...
As you can see in the photo above, the brushed aluminum casing and walnut wood red LED Emily alarm clock was designed to be wall mounted, or placed against a wall on a bedside table, to be viewed while on your side in bed. Smarty pants keen design and it surely would make one luxurious going away to college gift for those most deep of sleepers: freshman class students.
I had assumed the rounded corners on the bottom were to make it smoother in transitioning from vertical to horizontal. Not to facilitate wall aesthetics.
You know...like you turn it vertical when you go to bed, then horizontal when you wake up. That way, during the day you'd be able to see the time when you want to see the time, you don't need to turn your head to the side and/or have another clock for that.
