The refurb store is fantastic (grrr, you've let the cat out of the bag!). If you're willing to settle for not quite the latest, you can save a few hundred bucks. In fact I'm waiting for my refurb to arrive right now.

A couple of other bonuses: often the refurbs aren't actually refurbished. Sometimes apple is just trying to get rid of old stock after an update. You can also score extras sometimes. If the unit was originally a built to order model with, say, extra ram, sometimes you'll score that bonus even though it wasn't listed on the specs when you purchased.
