It's not just Apple anymore. At least that is what HP and Dell want you to think. While previous HP and Dell PC's that we have seen have certainly lacked inspiration in the design department, if the
HP Blackbird is a sign of things to come, things are defintely moving, in the right direction.
We think that Ken Musgrave, Dell's director of industrial design puts it best when he says that customers now "get, appreciate and demand great design." Yes they do.

It's really fantastic looking (inside and outside), but like most things with inspiring design comes a premium in cost. This thing retails from $3,500 - $5,500. If it also came in the size of HP Slimline computers, it'll be a real winner in form and footprint.

This looks a bit "geek sleek" to me - too many angles and bevels and automotive-style details. Unless the body is wrapped in black anodized aluminum or some other rare finish, I have a feeling this is going to look like one more big plastic tech box under the harsh flourescent light of your local Best Buy.
Apple's magic isn't what they do, its what they don't do. In a world full of screeching visual bells and whistles, Apple's reductive approach to design almost always feels like a breath of fresh air.

I know I've been looking at a lot of custom cases lately, but this doesn't look particularly different on the outside.
The locking clips holding the components on the inside, though, so you (apparently) don't have to screw everything in? If that actually works, I want it.
