Sony: New TT Series Promises To Bring Bluray To The Ultraportability Market

092308_an_vaio_tt.jpgAt 2.87 pounds, this lightweight carbon-fiber notebook is mind-boggling to say the least. Sony somehow crammed tons of power into a laptop a few inches larger than the tiny ASUS EEE, but managed to throw in Bluray as a standard. Will these replace dedicated HTPC's? We'll just have to wait and see...

Update: Correction, 1080p is only available when outputted with HDMI to a larger screen. Thanks charmac!

092308_an_vaio_tt2.jpg The 11.1" screen uses Sony's XBRITE-DuraVIew LED technology, has a 16.9 aspect ratio. Want to watch things on the big screen? No sweat! The laptop even includes an HDMI output so you can watch all the HD you want with a simple plug of a wire! You can also upgrade to their SSD offerings of dual channel 256GB (128GB X 2) solid state drive (SSD) with RAID technology - which helps in quicker boot-times and overall performance.

The TT model starts at $2,000. It is available in a premium carbon black, silk black, champagne gold and crimson red.
