Sony: New VAIO Z, FW, SR and BZ Laptops Announced

071508_an_vaio_lineup.jpgSony's VAIO line has always been impressive, often becoming the balance between Apple laptops with their 13" varieties. This year is no different, as they release an array of newly redesigned and renamed laptops sharing similar designs. All laptops will feature a recessed laptop keyboard (like Macbooks) and aggressive pricing (especially their 13" VAIO SR model). A Sony Z option with SSD is also available for $2,300. All of the above should become available around July/August.

Because of how fast the VERY proprietary "tablet" touch screen started developing black horizontal lines on the Sony VAIO desktop I bought in 2001, you literally could not give me a Sony computer. And by proprietary, I mean, you couldn't even match up a different VAIO monitor with that computer. Trust me; I tried. I even spent an extra over-$100 for the right to speak to a live PERSON on their customer support, just to have them tell me that I might find one on eBay! Can you imagine? And THEN... of course, that became the perfect nightmare -- I made 3 attempts to purchase one, and they all went bust, and I think the least amount of money I spent on those was around $75.
