Tempo Wireless Trash Can

2007_08_28 tempo.jpg

Miss the satisfaction that comes with crumpling up a piece of paper and tossing it into the trash bin? Neither do we, but it seems Cagnina Design does with their 'Tempo' concept. More of a safety feature than an electronic attempt at satisfying those familiar behaviours, the Tempo automatically and wirelessly stores files that are deleted.

If an important file is accidentally deleted, as we have all done at one point, the lost file can simply be retrieved from the 'trash'. At 250 GB there is plenty of space for collecting deleted files, but as the storage capacity is filled up, the exterior surface is illuminated giving the user an indication of when to empty the trash.

...What does this do that a normal external hard drive and Windows' Recycle Bin doesn't? I'm missing something here.

Oh wait, it lights up.

It's wireless via bluetooth which is cool. not too practical as an external hard drive as the speeds would be crawling but for a 'trash bin' purpose it seems pretty neat and you never have to plug it in. it would at least be a cool novelty gadget/desk ornament, but with some practicality as well.
