Wooden Mousepad

2008_05_22 woodpad.jpgWith folks making desks from scratch up in here, a $60 wooden mousepad seems a tad outrageous. Granted, this one can angle up or hook on the edge of your desk to create a dedicated mousing zone, but I tend to prefer a flat pad anyways. The funny thing is, I still prefer this over the typical neoprene mouse pad. Maybe I'm just partial to wood, but this would be an easy enough DIY job. You only need a few easily accessible items.

A scrap piece of plywood, some edge tape, an iron and some wipe on polyurethane and you are good to go. Or you could just clear the clutter off your wood desk and call it even.

My optical mouse goes crazy on a wood desk surface, so it wouldn't like this either. I'll stick to neoprene, thanks.
