Concept: Indoor Greenhouse on a Stick

061909_sz_flowerpot.jpg While taking a look at great backyard ideas, we can't forget people who don't have the luxury of having a small plot of land to call their own. For those of you stuck to using your green thumb in your apartments, here's a great concept we hope comes to fruition...

061909_sz_flowerpot2.jpg The Green Indoors is a project entered into Design Boom's Your Way to Coway competition. Imagined by Ingela Viks and Liina-Kai Raivet of Estonia, the indoor herb grower includes a light tube plant base that not only holds the flowerpots, but gives them the UV rays your plants need to photosynthesize.

061909_sz_flowerpot3.jpg "Up to 24 plant pots can be hung on the light tube. The fluorescent tube provides the plant with the necessary light, while the matte glass cover protects people’s eyes. The lighting period is regulated automatically according to the amount of natural light. An automatically controlled watering system supplies the plants with water. Thanks to its own light source, the plant base can be placed anywhere in the room, regardless of the amount of natural light."
