For small space dweller, there's often a compromise made between choosing where one can work on their laptop or desktop and where they can eat. And even for those with plenty of space, many of us just dine in front of the new boob tube, the Internet. The table of choice for dual purpose use between being on the computer and enjoying a bowl of Rice Crispies might be Cecilia Olsson's Stella table.
Finally! A table I can set a laptop computer on. My current dining room table does not allow this, what with it being just a normal dining table.
I often consider it but then I think to myself "WAIT you can't set a computer on there! It's a TABLE, not a DESK!"

Michael C, the benefit here is not that you can set your laptop down (at the proper keyboard height, no less) but that you can quickly transform your messy desktop into a dining table without having to refile all of your papers and store your laptop. Just close it up and go. The mess (or organization, as I call it) stays in place and ready to go and your guests are none the wiser. Ready to work again, just lift the top and go. This is a great benefit to anyone who doesn't have a home office that they can use to segregate their chaotic work from their domestic bliss.
The proportions are a bit too Ikea for my taste, but the idea is a great one.

As far as I can tell, this table doesn't actually exist. After scouring the internet, there is no site that sells it, nor does any article about it discuss where you might buy it or how much it might cost. This isn't a table, it's an idea.

What designer Cecilia Olsson has done here is not only get everyone's hopes up in excitement, but also disappoint them at the same time when they discover it's only a rendering of a concept. Have the need for a tiny table? obviously. Need to work at a desk that’s just a little lower than the table? definitely. Having a few guests over for fine-china dining? Got it, errrr wait actually no you don't unless someone actually makes the darn thing.
