Wooden Desktop Accessories: A Sustainable Way To Decorate Your Desk

100908_rg_ideacowood_01.jpgIdeaco & Muku is a Japanese company which has come up with a beautiful and sustainable way of decorating your desk. The wooden desktop accessories are made in Vietnam from German beech wood. Wood is always a good look to have in any setting. It highlights natural materials and works very well even in modern decors. There's nothing more modern than your computer setup, which is why we find these accessories so fitting.

100908_rg_ideacowood_03.jpgYou can choose from trays, penstands, tape dispensers, tissue box covers, photo frames, and even a kitchen tray for those times that you are drinking tea or coffee while you're at your desk. The items really pop on glass or darker desk surfaces, but they will be available in three different grains of wood. The trays can also be used as rulers, which is an interesting double feature. The paperclip tray is magnetized, so that your paperclips don't wander away during your day at work. We find the memo stand especially useful, since you can use cut up recycled paper instead of Post-Its for memos.

100908_rg_ideacowood_04.jpgConsidering how good they look, they are a must for anyone looking for something different for their office, at home or at work. Plus, they are made out of wood, which is a sustainable material. Prices for the accessories vary between $5 and $35, making them affordable as well.

Looks nice. Kind if matchy-matchy all together though.

If you're a high-tech kind of person and looking for some matching desk items, not only can you get a wood iPod case, but you can get a stand for it too (see more at http://mjdinsmore.etsy.com). All made from recycled, salvaged or eco-harvested wood.

I'm not one to have everything match -- but having a few things coordinate isn't a bad thing. :-) I like how the memo stands have magnets in them to help keep them organized.
