Wooden USB Memory Sticks

2007-10-09thalbach1.jpg

Wood is usually more a greener and more sustainable material than plastic, so why not extend these qualities to your normally plastic-encased memory stick? These are from Thalbach Design, a German company (translation for the site needed).

Check out another wood memory stick option after the jump.

The Thalbach designed wooden memory stick comes with 1, 2 or 4 gigabytes of memory, and range in price for different types of wood and memory size, from about $70 to $135.

We love these wooden memory sticks because it reminds us that we're connected to nature, even if we spend most of the day on-line, in a virtual world. They also could serve as compliments to striking wood pieces, much like shown above next to the branch.

Oooms Wooden Memory Sticks, also seen over on GeekSugar--and previewed here on AT:HT--are another wooden option. These are more natural in their form, and range in size from 256 MB to 2 GB. Prices range from $55 to $109.

wait, are they crafted from salvaged wood or were trees cut down to make them? Meine Deutsche Vokabel ist nicht so Gross so I couldn't read all the German.. I understood from the description that they were carefully handcrafted but didn't see a reference to the wood's source.
