With a longer screen, a click wheel and a lean silhouette, the new Nano looks nothing like the square version that came directly before it, and frankly, we’re a bit thankful. We always try to be innovative and cutting edge, but sometimes it seems better to go by the southern-tongued mantra, “If it ain’t broke, don’t go fixin’ it.”
The Nano has a vertically-oriented display with a click wheel underneath, perhaps to appease the legions of Apple-heads who want to manually shuffle their songs without looking at the screen. The new screen will have the same 1.5:1 ratio of the iPhone and iPod Touch, enabling you to rotate it horizontally to watch videos.
iLounge makes comparisons to the current Microsoft Zune (pictured in pink).
bummer - I always thought that was the least appealing design. I guess it gives me a pass on buying one this generation.

this would make all the older nanos seem new again, which I like. green, right?

My Ipod shuffle recent broke so Iâm looking forward to getting one of these! The Zune looks good but the screen isnât as big/designed for horizontal video playing which I think will work brilliantly. I canât wait to watch some movies on my way to work on the train.
