Now, obviously this kind of design doesn't "go" with a lot of traditional decorating styles, but the project serves as a convenient reminder during DIY month that a little ingenuity goes a long way. A gallery on Mashie Design called "Project Asteroid" gives step-by-step directions for making your own crazy fell-from-outer-space PC case with cardboard, styrofoam and paint.

The designer also went the extra mile and gave it that filled-with-green-glowing-lava look by changing the interior cables and connectors to green and adding a green light from within.
