Bocci 22 Out(lets) in the Wild

2008_05_19 bocci_22_plug.jpgWe just love it when one of our readers runs with something that we have blogged about. In this case it is the Bocci 22 outlet. Since I found out about these minimalist outlets too far into my own renovation to use them, I can now live vicariously through Creede over at Grassroots Modern. The single outlets that he picked up came in at $16 each. Definitely pricey, but what is even more shocking is the special tool needed to remove the outlet from the box. $40. Minimalism doesn't come cheap.

While it looks like the first bits went in just fine, as with all things minimalist, the devil is in the details. And by details I mean mudding this sucker so that it is perfectly smooth and blends into the wall seamlessly. As someone who has had his fair share of run ins with the drywall mud and trowel all I can say is good luck Creede, you can do it. We'll be anxiously following your progress.

Thanks for the inspiration. I haven't taken any good pictures yet, I'm waiting until I get some cabinetry in, but you can get a sneak preview in these posts.
