Whether you're a Craigslist scourer or a Walmart shopper, you're going to have to become either one of them to complete this project. I, for one, live in a college town that purges every single year when students move out so I come upon these lamps all the time. For those in more remote areas, you're looking at $13 each sacrificial lamp. A pair for $26.

The general idea here is that you remove the light fixture, saw the tubing into the desired height, and route the wire into the base of the lamp to your speaker for a super clean look you can't find anywhere else!
