Hack One Business card, Win 1000 Free!

Industrial Design blog Core77 is hosting a competition on its forum that is chock full of creative and inspiring entries: The site asked its readers to make something useful and three-dimensional out of those flat rectangles of corporate communication, the business card. The results are a lot of little tech accessories that can be made in less than an hour in your cubicle...

Business cards, those ubiquitous 2" x 3.5" pieces of paper stock, can be the perfect vehicle for invention. Bend one and it becomes a chopstick rest, add some paper clips and a bulldog clip and create an office pet, cut some notches in a bunch and you've got a versatile construction toy.

Core77 sure saw a lot more potential in squares of cardboard than we ever could. Above in the gallery are our favorite entries to the competition so far, but the contest is still open until April 26th.

If you have a great idea, why not submit it here? The prize is 1000 Eco-Friendly business cards from contest sponsor UPrinting.
