How To: Make an Outdoor Cactus Garden Lamp

060509catctuslamp.jpgWe're still waiting to see if any tech minded folks out there join us this month and share their outdoor tech projects for My Great Outdoors, so we thought we'd share this DIY project posted by Pelikan_Hobbywelt over at German DIY site, EXPLI.de, that might inspire you this weekend to create a little decorative lighting in your garden using outdoor LED string lights, some papier-mâché and paint. Seems like an affordable and simple project to tackle with the kids...

Materials needed for this project are all readily available at any hardware or big box store and all for the budget minded:

  • Acrylic paint
  • Long shaped balloon
  • Newspapers
  • Wallpaper paste
  • Bristle brush
  • Kitchen roll
  • Nail scissors
  • LED string lights
  • Clay

The full step-by-step instructions (translated) are available here to follow.
