Old DVDs Hide Secret Storage in this DIY Project

081409_tf_hiddenshelf1.jpgFor those of you with valuables to hide, we've shown you how to hide a 'safe' inside of a vintage radio. Here's another DIY storage solution that will make you feel like James Bond...

From Instructables, this DIY project shows you how to use the cases from old DVDs to hide a secret compartment in a shelf. All you need is a few old cases and some supplies from the hardware store (The Instructables guy behind the whole project estimates it costs around $25).

But the thief might be on to you when he sees that you've got a front-and-center shelf devoted to bad movies!

And I've always heard that things like DVDs, CDs, and video games were one of the first things common thieves go for because they're so easy to sell on eBay or at your local used CD store. So by hiding your valuables behind a popular target, you might actually be making it easier for them to find the really good stuff.

Maybe having the ends not perfectly aligned would be more realistic.
