Remote Control Switch Socket

2007-05-06-socket_270x269.jpgJust what we need... another remote. Commonly sold at Christmas time, these handly little things make it a breeze to turn on and off outdoor lights. But, our father, being the clever one that he is, quickly brought it inside and uses it to turn on (and off) lights from across the room.

But practical jokes aside, these have a green side as well. We all know that plugged in devices continue to draw power. This unit allows you to "unplug" your devices with a simple click of the remote. The only real problem with these things, is keeping track of yet another remote.

Available here for $9.99.

Could I plug a power strip into these? I was JUST thinking about how impossible it is to unplug stuff all the time. Perfect timing :)

Since it has a 3-prong plug I'm guessing you could.
