Portable, rechargeable and smart, these compact Pure-Fi speakers from Logitech mean you can take your iPod music with you and share it with a group for up to 10 hours. It comes with a battery life indicator light, weighs only 1.6 pounds, and is 13 inches by 3.5 inches by 1.5 inches. There are dual 2-inch Max-X speakers that have high-excursion drivers with neodymium magnets, and 3-inch pressure drivers maximize bass response. The speakers are part of Apple's "Made for iPod" program, so the sleek black is complimented by a glossy white with silver grills option.
The setup can be purchased from Logitech for $150, and will be available come September.

I wish they offered it in white...

napk, they will have white, though not all white, as the speaker grills will be silver, as I stated above. Were you hoping for all white?

I need to find a local (read: NYC) service to convert all my cd's to mp3 files. Yeah, I know. I should have done that a long time ago. Anyone got a recommendation?

How many do you have? It's not that difficult to do it yourself these days, if your computer is remotely modern. I did it pretty much in the background while working on other tasks, over the course of a couple of weeks.
Although with 500GB external drives going for $119, I'd recommend ripping your collection to a lossless format like FLAC, Apple Lossless or Windows Media Lossless. You could then batch convert them to a lossy format for use in iPods or other portable devices. That way you'll have bit-perfect copies of your entire library and should never need to re-rip them again.

I used to work in the "the biz" back when there was "a biz" so I'm guessing I've got at least 5000 cd's. Once I cull through them, maybe 1500 or so that I'd actually want to convert.
