CD's Become Even More Retro: Play Them on Your Turntables

2008_05_12-record-cd.jpgNow that you have spent all that time ripping your entire cd collection, what to do with the leftover discs? Of course you can recycle them, or even use them as coasters, but if you still have turntables kicking around there is another interesting option.

Aleksander Kolkowski uses a record cutter to to cut grooves into old cd's so that they can be played on a turntable. Old CD + digital single = recycled compact disc 45 rpm single.

Pretty cool i guess.

Records are valuable because they're records - Old, gritty, warm, and authentic. Making a CD into a record defeats its purpose
