For those of us who grew up with Nintendo, it was instantly recognizable and evoked immediate nostalgia for days of yore. We still want to shoot that stupid, giggling dog. But we're curious if the kids wondered what is that clunky, gray box on top?

You clearly haven't been in Hot Topic lately (Lucky you...). Old school NES stuff is pretty popular. The Mario mushrooms, Link from Zelda, the controllers, etc. are on every type of clothing and accessory you can think of. NES systems go for upwards of $60 on eBay and Nintendo's Virtual Console for the Wii is bringing these games back for a whole new generation of gamer. I'm pretty sure the kids know all about the frustrations of that stupid, giggling dog...

I think the Wii is the first Nintendo gaming system I own where the usual, "blow dust out of cartridge" method of getting things to work won't be necessary... I kinda miss the ritual!
