This LEGO kitchen was created by Munchausen, formed by two Parisian designers named Simon Pillard and Philippe Rosetti. They actually ventured into an IKEA store to get a basic kitchen island, and spent about a week covering it with LEGO bricks. They used over 20,000 of them. The result is halfway between a piece of art and modern decor. We could see these bricks working well, but we'd have to use a better pattern than this one,which seems mostly random.

We'd suggest covering the kitchen island with a piece of plexiglass or glass in order to protect the bricks, which could easily melt when exposed to hot temperatures. Still, it's something quite cool. It's not excessive. A completely covered kitchen would just be unusable, but just one kitchen island kind of makes sense. The trick, as mentioned before, is coming up with an interesting pattern. How do you like it? Would you ever cover your kitchen island with LEGOs?
