Vinyl-Disc

Two for one. A German company, Optimal Media Production, has created a dual CD/vinyl media. One side is a 70 minute CD, the other has three minutes of vinyl that can be played on your record player.

As lovers of the dying artform of the turntable, we think this is a clever way to market CDs, giving the listener an added bonus. This wouldn't appeal to someone who's gone completely digital with their music, but could allow the record aficionado a whole new world of collecting.

Lately any vinyl I purchase comes with a free digital download of the album. Which seems just brilliant.
