A Happy Office is...Organized

Never underestimate the power of organization. In a space where we work, knowing where to find things is important. Whenever we sit down to work in our own home office, visual clutter is the first thing that distracts us. When we saw the home office of Bookwormadventures we liked how she had everything within reach, yet organized in an attractive way.

Some of the interesting solutions we noted were the clipboards on the walls to display current projects and clear jars to display brightly colored desk accessories.

Her desk alone is a clever DIY, composed of two IKEA Vika Artur legs and a countertop bought at a local hardware store. What is great about the counter, is the ridge at the back which allows the desk to blend into the wall almost as a built in. And...offers a perfect place to hide those cords.

Love the countertop idea. Super easy to clean, smooth surface for mice, comes in a multitude of colors... I bet you could even get away with drilling a small hole into it to thread cords through if you wanted to.

I might have to consider this one whenever I finally move and decide to put my computer in its own office, instead of its current spot on the table-turned-desk in the dining area.
